    Masterkey

Just out of curiosity; would a masterkey shotgun just be considered an AOW weapon? Or is there anything else to it because it's a weapon mounted device?

I would imagine that mounting it to a rifle would classify it as an SBS since it would be attached to a shoulder stock.

Yup, putting it on a rifle makes it a SBS. Even though the key itself may be an AOW, attaching a shoulder stock (by way of a host rifle) to it would make it a SBS

So to own a SBS/AOW; you would go through the process of finding one, doing Form 4, etc? According to Wiki it's legal to own a SBS in Cali by going through that process, but what is the likelihood of your CLEO to approve it? Are all Cali CLEOs uptight or is it actually possible?
