    Winchester 101

WTF? Is the Win 101 only sold by Bass Pro and no one else??

I'm looking for this particular model. Any other shops in the LA/SG Valley carrying this? Does Turners have something like this in a different model number?

Stockade and Fowlers carry winchester 101.
I was looking at 101. A year ago.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

The 101 can be purchased places other than BPS. Do some research.

Thanks everyone for their input. Been doing alot of research on the 101s.

Yes, 101s are sold by other FFLs other than Bass Pro. But they have different SKU/Part #s.

Closes model to what BPS is selling is the Win 101 Sporting for $2379.
From what I can tell. It is a 28in barrel vs. 30, adjustable trigger shoe, and fiber optics sights.

The BPS O/Us are listed as Exclusive models.

Are these still being made by Nikko?

They were never made my Nikko. Nikko was a brand name for the Japanese 101s sold outside the U.S. Nikko and Win guns were not completely identical, but most of the parts are interchangeable. Seems that the Nikko guns may have had a bit higher finish than the Win guns, but there were a lot of higher grade Win 101s produced. The Japanese 101s were made in the Olin Kodensha factory in Koichi. Same factory that produced the Win 23 and Parker Repro. Current and recent 101s are made in Belgium, part of the conglomerate that includes Winchester, Browning, and parent FN. Lots of people think the 101s were built by Miroku, but not true. Miroku produces the Citori, and the Olin Kodensha factory closed a long time ago. As I recall, the closure was the result of a fire, and a lot of subsequent water damage.

Re OP's question, it is not unusual for the big box retailers (Bass Pro, Cabela's, etc.) to order a run or "exclusive" guns from any manufacturer. The exclusive part may be slightly different engraving or an unusual barrel length or a different finish (oil vs poly on the wood, or case vs coin on the frame, etc.), but the guns are usually mechanically identical.

BPS had the cheapest price at $1500. No hard case tho. May look at other mfgs.
