    Benelli shotguns have sparked my interest as of late.

    They are Italian and therefore romantic.

    They are pricier than most American-brand guns save for the Nova, which is horribly cheap for a European-made gun.

    Then there is Beretta which is much too pricey but I love their Pigeon series, like Silver Pigeon, over/under but you still have to break them open over your knee coz the action is so stiff. Beretta makes no pumps to boot.

    Nova is a steal and I now think its malfunctions on YouTube are due to stupid operators and/or bad ammo like Winchester (low brass) or Remington instead of those pristine Federal shells. A repeating shotgun like a semi or pump demands shells that are uniform and crimped well for dependable feeding.

    If I were to think about a Benelli battery, it might include;

    1. Benelli Nova 12 ga. with 28" field barrel in BLACK, camo looks tacky: for ducks, foul-weather upland, and small-fur-game hunting as foxes and rabbits: should work for turkeys to boot since it can chamber 3 1/2" magnum turkey loads
    2. Benelli Nova 12 ga. tactical for home/camp defense
    3. Benelli Montefeltro Silver, 20 ga., 26" barrel for skeet and birds in the uplands in good weather

    The Montefeltro shotgun is a self-loader with exclusive Inertia Driven action. No nasty gas-operated parts to clean. This pretty engraved gun has a strong rotary bolt like the robust, ugly black Nova pumps.

    Go with the super nova, so you can go up to 3 1/2 loads and the comfortech stock

      Don't like the name "SuperNova".

      The plain old Nova stock will work fine with me unless you think the recoil will be too harsh in a regular Nova shooting 3 1/2's.

      But if YOU like the virtues of SuperNova vs. Nova, then be my guest.

            I'm not sure where you got your Beretta experience, but both of mine never needed a knee (and still don't need a knee) to open "coz the action is so stiff". If either needed a knee, it would go back to Beretta pdq.

            Beretta doesn't make pumps, but Benelli does, and they've been owned by P. Beretta since around 2000.

              As stated by elSquid there is nothing exclusive about the inertia action and hasn’t been for several years.
