    1953 win m12

Found a very nice shotty today. My dad had a beautiful model 12 that was stolen. Have always wanted a model 12. Well drove from the bay area to sac today and jailed a sweet 1953 model 12 with a poly choke. Today was a great day.

Model 12s are nice. My grandfathers ended up with my uncle. Only thing I had to watch out for is you had to push the pump forward after the shot to get it to unlock the bolt. Great guns and a good find.

Yes pops m12 rusted easy. Sad that the shotty is sitting at the ffl and I didn't get to wipe her down.
As for the dial a duck? Always wanted one. Thought it was a great idea and with the ports I'm guessing it should work as a compensator?
Btw I do have a evil black semi with a 10 round tube [emoji2]. Much lighter parkarized finish. But not the beauty of the m12.

Yes it does have the vent rib.Ive used it in a couple trap matches, shot well enough to help a rookie hit 18/25.

My bucket list. Get a rib installed. In on the fence. Part says do it. The other side is I don't want it to be reblued.

Got a fair deal. 450.00 out the door. Had to drive 90 minutes and 60 miles. Lol. Yes those m12 have increased in value. Looked up gun broker and nationally it was 200 or so more than I paid. Condition is close to 9.5. Think it was a safe queen for sure.

I'm in. Usi? Just shot some trap last Sunday. Boy o boy 45 years, not shooting trap, it sure was fun. Went to los altos they have self serve trap. Good time.
Gotta wait another 9 days tho [emoji22].

This could turn into a M12 get together shoot!

If it were me, I would leave it alone and enjoy it as is. At nearly 65 years old, it is a recreational shooter. I would keep the extra cash on hand for a more modern, competitive shotgun or to upgrade when the opportunity arises. But that's me.
+1. Exactly what half my brain is telling the other voices in my head. Pops m12 (that's was stolen) had the vent rib. Omg what a natural pointer.
However agreed about not molesting a nice safe queen. Plan to shoot her a lot. [emoji2] not even broken in yet. Just be shooting clays. And yes I have that evil black sister to trash about. If the m12 got scratched or dinged.... I would not be too thrilled. As for the Stoeger? Meh its made for abuse. Lol.
