One wouldn't think that your wife would be into traps; mostly you just hear about them on 4chan. Too bad you're not a little closer to San Francisco - traps are quite popular there, or so I hear. -
Your best choice would be Triple B Clays in South El Monte. They have an introductory package that includes gun rental (Beretta A400, 12 or 20ga), targets, ammo, eye and ear protection, and instructor time. 25 target package is $70 and 50 target package is $95 per person. I'm one of the instructors there and I also help run the SoCal Shotgun Clinic in the stickies at the top of this forum. You can ask for myself (Richard) or any of the other instructors would be great as well. I agree with what Capt Dick and Trapperjohn have said. I am a veteran of many SoCal Skeet clinics, they are without question the best way to go in learning how to shoot a shotgun.
