I have been looking at a few here and there, and am wondering what a fair price would be for a new, reliable one? I have seen them ranging from $250-$650 and want something that will last a while.

Any info?

Stoeger makes them in both coach and field lengts at a relatively low cost. They even have a defense oriented over and under.

I have a Stoeger coach gun but it is 20 ga. Not that different from the 12ga. Never had a problem with mine. The hammers cock and the safety automatically activate when you break the action open. It has 2 triggers. The coach gun has extractors but not ejectors.The wood is decent but you won't mistake it for a fine English double. Good gun for the money.

Try keeping an eye out for an old Savage 311, they last forever as long as you don't shot steel shot thru them.

Check gunbroker for a Stoeger Coach Gun. There are some good deals out there.

They are hard to find, but if you can find a Rossi Overland you will like it. SxS, exposed hammers, coach gun. Great for HD, and lots of people use them in CAS, etc.

stoeger is the most common sxs i see on the used shelf.

Up your budget a little and get a cz. they make a sweet coach gun and a few other sxs.
