    Any choke thread prep necessary?

Never messed with chokes before. But this year for turkeys I bought a Carlson full choke and will be trying patterns with it and the factory modified choke.

Just wondering if any lube or anti seize or prep should be done on the threads?

Absolutely yes. Google "stuck choke tube" and you'll get a sense of the potential problem.

I use automotive anti-seize (Permatex brand from any auto parts store). I've used it for years and it works great. I use it on my vehicles and other stuff, so it's there in my shop anyway.

If you wanna get fancy you could get purpose-made/marketed choke tube lube.

Cleaning the threads between changes is also not a bad idea, but lube is the most important thing.

Wheel bearing grease works too, but be sure and use something.

          ><

Just lube the choke tubes with any lubricate, wipe clean, relube when you clean the gun and you will never have a problem

Always use lube, and put some on the choke tube too

I use marine moly based anti-seize. Regular anti-seize works good too, just seems to end up everywhere more.

I use an anti-sieze from Permatex, the nickle type. Not sure if the nickle does anything, I bought it because it sounded cool.

                  This one: https://www.amazon.com/Permatex-7712...rds=anti-sieze

I got it from Amazon and the nice thing about Amazon is that it tells you when you last bought the product. Mine was purchased in Apr 2014 and I still have most of the 8oz bottle left. It'll probably last me a lifetime.

I just use gun oil. I am not an extreme trap/clay shooter. The most I shot one time was about 1250 rounds in 1 week. I noticed that my Carlson's extended choke came loose about every 300-400 rounds. I didn't beat it tight. I just made it snug with the wrench.

Nickel anti-seize is for high temperatures. Higher than copper. I doubt your shotgun will see temps that will exceed copper let-alone nickel anti-seize.

I hunt ducks over salt water, as such I take the choke tube out at the end of the day to give it and the threads in the barrel a wipe down. Since I remove, clean, and replace so often I just use ballistol, though I'll use Hornady one-shot for better corrosion resistance when I remember.
