Shotgun for hunting. Suggestions?

Looking for a hunting gun. Upland and waterfowl. First hunting shotgun. I was looking at the CZ Drake O/U. Is it better to go semi-auto where I can have 2+1?

I'll 2nd the A300. The micro core pad is a good upgrade, but not mission critical. Camo, black, wood...the game won't care. But the camo & black synthetic models have more adjustability in the stock.

I am with A300 or even better A400 .
I would also recommend Winchester Sx3, I have one and cant say but good things about it.

The micro core come in different thicknesses. If you need it, get the plastic spacer and then figure out how much more space you need for the correct lop (length of pull). Remember, you'll have thick clothing on while hunting ducks.

I think it's critical because you want the gun to fit you. The stock set up is too short for me.

I hunt Upland with a Beretta A300, Franchi Affinity, Browning Citori Field and Savage 311A. Waterfowl with a Beretta A391. All purchased PPT from Calgunner's. Obviously, I have self control and money management issues.

I use o/u for all my bird hunting. Win 101 for waterfowl and browning for upland.

My experience too. That and I don't like taking a nice o/u out while duck hunting, especially if it's raining. There is more recoil when compared to a semi auto and I've shot a lot of ducks and geese with that third shot. You'll enjoy the switch to a semi auto!

I've only shot a Beretta o/u, benellis and Beretta's. The benellis are good guns but they recoil more than the Beretta's. I use a friend's 20 guage montefeltro and absolutely love that gun for doves and upland game.

Another hidden gem is the Beretta a350. I started a thread about it a while back.

If you can find a FFL that will charge a transfer fee of $50 or less, this is worth the extra $, IMO.
