Mossberg 930 JM Pro Experience/Feedback

Thanks. That old 500 is the only one loaded. I like bead sights ok but that low fiber optic on the JM looks great. The fin style are pretty high. I checked out other variations of the 930 on the rack today again. They are all pretty sweet. It seems like a great gun so far. I'll try it at the indoor since they are ok with shotguns. If my rail gets here I'll just try it with a FF3. I hope it sits low enough with the burris mount.Comment

If anybody is looking for a JM Pro i have one with that is almost NIB. (5 rounds), gave up on the 3 gun idea with our stupid "assault rifle" laws. I have a 24" 9+1 available for sale in the SF Bay Area. Also have a Mesa Tactical Urbino stock that I bought for it but have not installed. Hit me up if you are looking for a deal.Comment

Got my Weaver rail from Midway today. The FF3 looks like a great fit on this 930. Will let all the Loctite set up and try to make it to the range tomorrow. As I was hunting for the FF3 box to find the pic mount I almost grabbed the Mepro M21 and mounted it, but the Mepro is freaking huge. The FF3 and rail barely added any weight. Sorry for all the pics... looking for a reason to use my IMGUR these days, hahah. Screw Photobucket.

I was worried about that too, but I've tried a few rifles like VZ-58's etc... where the FF3 just pops right into view. The 930 is the same for me. Both eyes open shouldering the gun, the dot pops right into my view pretty much centered up... at this point it was only bore sighted with my 1xAAA flashlight beam simulating a pattern in the barrel (I centered the light on a wall panel and centered the FF3 dot on the panel too). Looks like it'll work for me, but if not I'll just go back to the bead.
Sights like the FF3 actually seem easier to use and get used to on long guns than on handguns... but they aren't much different than any other RDS. People just worry about the size of the lense.Comment

I also think the smaller sights are better because they mount lower than a large tube - a lot of that is because they sit so low on their mounts and the mounts are typically smaller / lower too.
That Weaver rail is actually a Weaver Classic branded section and I highly recommend it. There was no slop forward and back when the FF3 mount bar dropped into the rail. Great fit and finish for $10.Comment
