    Brass shells

Hello. I'd like to get a lee hand loader and load some of those magtech brass shells with black powder. I need some help getting started. Advice on what equipment ill need. Reputable Powder load data. ect. Oh and can you fire a 2.5 inch shell out of a chamber made for 2.75 and 3 since the shell is shorter?

Is this for an old black power / Damascus twist shotgun or???
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
        (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

Picked up this book today from my local reloading store. Read it cover to cover. I'm glad I didn't buy anything else yet because it gave me some valuable insight. I am confused on the loading data charts. it gives me the weight and even shot grns but no shot size?

Those with more experience with reloading will chime in but I believe the shot size doesn't matter, so long as the weight is the same and reloading data applies. For example 1oz of #9 shot loads the same as 1oz of #7.5 shot.

So I will need a reloading scale? I thought the shot scoops with the measurement graduations would do. AT least within a certain shot size criteria. Interesting..

No experience with brass shells, but decades of experience with shotshell in general. Get a scale...period. The Ballistiscale offered by the same company as the manual is plenty capable and like $30.

Shotshell data is by weight. Volume approximates weight, but shot size will influence the required volume. Of course you can always reduce the payload and be safe. I would imagine brass shell loading is typically with fiber wads and cards. You would adjust the wad column a bit to fit a full weight of significantly different shot sizes.
