    Knoxx Sidewinder Conversion

Anyone know anything about this? Is it legal in California? The website doesn't seem to indicate one way or the other

I'm thinking about buying one, if they're legal

Cabelas has them for under $200

Definition 8 of an assault weapon is
    (8) Any shotgun with a revolving cylinder.

So, that looks out, if DOJ calls it a revolving cylinder.
The six round box on a pump should be OK, but can't hunt with it.

How do these work on Pheasant hunts? I am afraid that the drum may be too many rounds for duck hunting. These are still fine hunting implements. These may make your dog and most buddies in your blind jump.

Heh, been there done that already......

I'm just looking for a new toy/project, I saw that and do have a couple of Mossbergs gathering dust, so I thought it could be fun to play with.........

Not to mention the old fact of getting my hands on something while I still can, this is the PRK after all.

The SIdewinder is legal in all 50 states, but not in Boston or NYC. Knoxx Industries is domiciled in California and builds the product here. The definition of an "assault shotgu' under California law begins with the words..."A semi-auto shotgun that..." Obicously not a Sidewinder. The drum magazine is not a cylinder as defined by the law and its capacity does not exceed 10 rounds. It is legal.

A 10-round staggered box magazine will be released later this year to overcome objections about the drums bulk. COmpetition shooters are reporting knocking 30 to 40 seconds off their match times by using the Sidewinder. Watch the videos posted on the board and see why the Sidewinder may be right for you.

The old way isn;t always the right way.

I just bought the box magazine kit, for a Mossberg 500.

Haven't put it on yet. I got it for IPSC 3-gun, even though it appears it will put me into Open class. Also just for the hell of it, I guess.

I only got the box magazines, not the 10-round drum. The width, extra expense, etc. Just not enough of an advantage in the IPSC stages. Sometimes you need to change from shot to slugs, etc.

Havent been on here in awhile. I built my Mossberg w/ Sidewinder kit a few months ago.

California has no laws on magazine loaded "pump action" shotguns.

I wish they would make the darn thing for my Benelli M3. I can only imagine that drum or a staggered 10 round mag on a semi. Oh baby.....

Not that my M3 is a semi, it's actually a pump shotgun with the ability to switch to semi. But it is primarily a pump.
