    Key for old case?

Trying to find a key for a old/vintage browning shotgun case.

here's what the case looks like...

1967 vintage Superposed case that came with a 30" Browning Broadway trap gun. Outside, only a few minor scuffs, no rips or tears. A few bumps inside from gun moving around. There is a key with it that works but it is not the original key. All locks, hinges, and hardware in good shape. $200...

Anyone have an extra or one I can borrow to copy (or pay you for a copied key)?

    Thanks.

You could call Browning, but I'd probably take the case to a good locksmith first.

That was my first course of action. They don't have any keys for the case due to the age (~50 yrs old). Understandable.

Finding a walk-in locksmith business (brick and mortar) is about as easy as finding a blacksmith these days. Everyone is mobile and has a service call fee.

Try a luggage store, the key looks like a generic that will fit the of locks on inexpensive luggage .
You might try your local gun store, the key might be the same as some of the rifle or pistol cases.

Here's the two keys I have that fit my gun cases.

Attempt a gear store, the key resembles a non specific that will fit the of locks on economical baggage .

You may attempt your nearby firearm store, the key may be the same as a portion of the rifle or gun cases.

Find a key? I have a Browning case like this. I can check to see if I have the key and get it copied. Hope the key works for your case.

Is there a number on the lock.

Atco 71 seems to be the go-to for the old cases.

The key laying in the case of the picture you posted looks just like the one on the key ring that Camw posted as far as the key cut goes. Sounds like he can solve your problem.

Will also add like others posted all those locks back then use a one cut o two cut luggage key as they don't have tumblers like door and pad locks.

If you are in the Bay Area, Reed Brothers in Oakland is the place to go.
