Is the FN SLP Mark 1 legal in CA? I'm referring to the 22" barrel semi-automatic 12-gauge with 8+1 mag capacity...Also, what are the rules for importing a CA-legal gun from out of state with no transfer of ownership? For example, if I ***hypothetically*** owned a long gun in another state, what do I have to do to bring it into CA? Thanks in advance for the response, I used the search feature but found nothing on the FN SLP specifically.

The Mark 1 is legal in California.
You need to find an FFL dealer that will accept the gun from the out of state FFL for transfer. Your local gun shop may help you with that process. -
If you lived in another state and moved to CA, when you moved you can bring whatever firearm you owned in that state with you to CA, as long as the firearm is not defined as an assault weapon.
The FN SLP Mark 1 is CA legal.
As long as it does not have an extending/folding stock and pistol grip on it.sigpic

Hmmm... two different answers. I got a similar response from my local gun store. My local gun store says I can bring it over if I already own it, but they said if I was buying it I would have to transfer it from out of state FFL to CA FFL. If that is true I assume I can import with no issues. Remember, I own the gun in this ***hypothetical*** situation. Clarification?? Thank you for the response.Comment
