What grade and value on Browning O/U?

I'd look at gunbroker, but I suspect above what TJ proposed.

And added chokes wouldn't change value much, but do affect utility.

For $30, Browning will send you complete documentation on the gun...that documentation would likely add its full cost to the sales price. The Browning web site has all the details.

Belgium superposed and do not listen to trapperjohn I would buy it in a secorNd fro 700 I had same o/u stolen in november cost 1100 to replace it. Made in same year. No superposed ever made had screw in chokes , He knowS zip about old browning o/u s. If it has 26" barrels likely improved cylinder lower and modified upper barrel. If a dime does not fit in muzzle then it is full choke. DO NOT SHOOT STEEL OUT OF IT UNLESS YOU HAVE FORCING CONES LENGTHENED

Lengthening the forcing cones will not make it OK for steel. Relieving the cones on any shotgun may modestly improve patterns and felt recoil (or maybe not depending on who you ask). It does remove material from the chamber area and theoretically weakens it, though I have had it done on a couple guns and never had a problem, at least not with 2 3/4" shells. A couple old timers who liked to go to pot shoots told me they would never touch a gun with lengthened cones. It didn't really change much in my mind, as recoil was not an issue and the guns patterned fine already (a gunsmith friend it did for free). The problem with steel in older guns is at the choke, particularly full chokes. Using steel shot will bulge the barrel at the choke. Browning says this is a cosmetic issue only, but why do it? Its ugly and will likely mess up the rib (if there is one). Browning has a FAQ on their website.

Your Superposed is what it is - a nice, 66 year old shotgun. At this point, they are best as lightly used range guns, which is fine, as lead shot is still OK at most ranges and everywhere else outside of CA. At this point, I would not modify one with aftermarket chokes or anything else. They don't make them anymore, so just have fun with it and keep it nice for the next owner.

They do still make them, however, they are only through the Browning Custom Shop and will cost serious $$$

All "depends". I still kick myself for passing on a nice blonde wood safe queen 20g Superposed for like $1800. Choked too tight for my uses and I was out of town. Went back and the shop was no longer there (Jackson CA). You can have the chokes opened up or install some Briley's (name recognition goes a long ways on a semi-collectible shotgun).

I hear parts are getting somewhat rare.
