Coming from an AR, that thing is clean!! Not bad

In other words, you should focus on getting a shotgun that fits you well and is geared more towards clay shooting, this means a straight stock and 24 inch barrel or longer with removable chokes.

Since you're in San Jose, what I recommend is for you take a trip to Coyote Valley Sporting Clay. They rent shotguns (O/U types) and have sporting clay, skeet and trap you can try. Try them all and see what is your interest in clay shooting like. If you find yourself enjoying it a lot, you'll want to save up and invest in a nice semi-auto or O/U. You can also hire instructors at Coyote Valley too, PM me if you want a recommendation. The Pro Shop in Coyote Valley usually has a nice selection of shotguns too, some you can try (they call it demo) and others you can ask them to let you hold and mount in the shop. A good way to get a feel of which ones fit you.

Alternatively, you can also sign up for the Skeet Clinic TheFedder here conducts in Metcalf Field Sports Park. A good way to get some lessons in shotgun mounting and fit.
        ^^^^ this ^^^^

It took me a long time to figure out that you need to shoot what fits you best. Pick up and point as many different shotguns as you can. You will know when its right.

Try and remember you point a shotgun and aim a rifle. You'll figure it out way quicker if you don't get hung up on anything else and just point and click

I'd take one over a Stoeger any day.

Nope.. You wouldn't like one....or is it 2 now?

It fits me really well....goes bang every time I pull the trigger...eats everything I feed it from cheap Wally world light target shells, to heavy high dollar Turkey loads, and it has never failed to cycle or eject. It's a lot softer shooting than my trusty old Wingmaster. And, as long as I do my part. It drops birds like rocks and crushes clays.

It quickly became my primary hunting gun and back up clay crusher!
