    Model 12 question

I've got a winchester model 12, which needs to go into a gunsmith. It has extraction and timing issues. Wont feed from the tube.

Anyone have a recommendation on a good shop which could take a look at this? I'm in the east bay/ Tri-valley area.

    Thanks,
    Ed.

Give it a good cleaning first...may be just old gumed oil. You can find take down info on the net.....I think it will solve the problem

Maybe a new set of springs too. Especially the magazine tube spring.

How'd your problems turn out? I've got a Model 12 coming my way and it'd be nice to know of a good 'smith for it in the Tri-Valley area....

Not just a GS you've got to find someone who really knows Win Mod 12's.We had a GS who could listen to a Mod 12 as he worked the slide and from feel & sound tell you what it needed in parts, lots of the well used mod 12's need new chamber rings which have to be cut to fit.Don't try to take one apart w/o a schematic from brownells or egunparts.com.Mod 12's were hand fitted with all milled parts.I have a 1924 Nickel steel mod 12 12g that was turned into a trap shotgun, stock was cast off to fit me.
