Calguns, help me with my Xtrema 2 please

Hi, I just picked up an Xtrema 2 and can't get it to chamber shells. The magazine tube loads fine, and the ramp is working, but the shell doesn't stick out of the tube far enough to be engaged by the ramp when cocking. I must be doing something wrong, but I have no idea what. Please advise.

Push the little carrier button underneath the receiver.

It's at the back of the loading port.

Thanks, that seems to do it. It shot a shell back onto the feed ramp which then was correctly chambered. When I racked it back and it ejected the shell, it did not feed a new one, I had to push the button again and it worked fine. I assume this is just because it is being manually racked versus being fired, and it will feed itself without trouble after firing. Please continue to reassure me

Yes, the way you load a Beretta is drop one in the chamber from the side, then load the mag tube from the bottom.

Pulling the trigger takes the place of pushing the button, and vise vera.

At this point I'm a little worried I've given you enough information to be dangerous.

PLEASE SAFELY UNLOAD THE GUN, AND TAKE A SAFETY CLASS.

DO NOT USE THE TRIGGER TO UNLOAD THE GUN.

(Not bad for a guy with limited experience, eh?)

I always use the trigger to unload my guns, lol.

                That's what I'm afraid of.

Barrel control and trigger discipline were in full effect for the duration of my testing. I was just woefully underinformed regarding this firearm. Thanks for the help

Then you did the right thing in asking. Good job.

Hahahaha, that's how I unload at the firing line. It's always good to ask questions. Manuals are rarely consulted by most gun owners, especially with unfamliar weapons.

Nice to see serious and helpful gun lovers willing to help. The shotgun section seems to have a different crowd than some of the other groups. It's a good thing...

Interesting. Wasn't it written in the instructions which came with the gun?
