    Pointer Over Under

The Turner's add had a Pointer Over Under in it for $489. I was curious if anyone had ever shot one or knows anything about them. I am looking for a budget over under tis year and curious about it.

I was also considering the Stevens 555 because it seems to get pretty solid reviews.

My experience with shotguns is somewhat limited, but it seems you get why you pay for. If you're going out once a month with your friends it should probably be fine.

If you've shooting once or twice a week, the less expensive shotguns tend to not hold up as well as a Beretta or Browning.

There is something wrong with their documentation, I think they have the length and LOP listed in reverse on some pages. Otherwise, it'll be one weird design to have a LOP of 47".

        ^^^^^this.

You can pick up a barely used Citori for $1K or so.

I shoot probably once every 3 weeks on average. I would say less than 1,500 hundred rounds a year. Interested in the over under for hunting for easier control of empties. My auto makes it hard to track down the spent casings

If you get a Beretta A300, it retrieves your hulls, reloads them and puts them back in your gun for you.

Have you considered packing a Mojo pick stick with you when you shoot? I have of these, wife and I used them to pickup shells after we shoot at ranges where we have to clean up after ourselves. With a low round count, it might be simpler to just pick up the shells with the aid of the Mojo pick stick and it is very cheap:

That would be of limited use while hunting.

OP, I understand where you're coming from. I shoot a 16 gauge and losing shells hurts. One of my favorite hunting shotguns (for many reasons) is a SxS with extractors. Empties don't come out until I tell them to come out!

That being said, in this day and age the reason to get an O/U (or SxS) is for the weight and balance as well as the quality of construction. At the very least, new double guns in the sub $1000 category tend to have suboptimal weight and balance.

Other than that, I have no experience with the gun you're looking at.

Nope ,this is just his way, see what he says: "You get why(what) you pay for" and then in another thread keeps propagating for El-Cheapo A300 LOl.....

You missed out on the cheap Turks by a decade. Be a miracle we ever get such quality at a very low price again.
