    carlson's benelli barrel

hello, does anyone have any experience with the Carlson's benelli replacement barrels? I have a nova 28' field barrel model and would like to get a 18.5 HD barrel and was wondering about quality and fitment. thank you.

I just picked up an 870 and the seller included a carlson's 18.5 barrel. I like the front sight and that is accept chokes. It fits in the receiver like the factory barrel. I haven't shot it yet though. Carlson's makes great chokes and I would expect theses barrels to get that job done. They are made in Turkey.

I took the plunge and bought one. almost the same price as a low end pump gun but I don't have room for another shotty.

well today was my day off so it is range time. the new barrel came in a clam pack. included in the package was the barrel and cylinder choke and a choke wrench. the overall finish and fit was great. I tried my factory chokes in the new barrel and all fit perfectly. I think it would be hard to tell that this is not a factory barrel unless one looks closely. the front ramp sight needed a little bit of red paint on it so as to be better seen. at the range I shot 100 shells, birdshot and buck. it preformed flawlessly. the ability to change out chokes is a big plus IMHO. this was a very worthwhile purchase.

I know that this post is worthless without pics but for some reason I cant send my phone pics to my email. my technical support is not home from school yet. when he arrives I will try to post some pics. HA! who needs tech support!!! I kind of got it!

Glad it worked out for you! Thanks for the quick update and review. I'm taking mine to the range on Sunday. The receiver/mag tube will be cerakoted in the next couple of weeks. If you don't mind, I'll let you know how it does on this thread so others can see how the barrels do.
