    Newbie question for M4 benelli

I just bought a camo M4 on impulse and one choke tube came with the gun.
I never have any tactical Shotgun before. I was own an O/U beretta 627 for clay shoot. My question is if it is Okay to shot the slug with the choke tube or I have to remove the choke tube. I believed this question will make many of Calguners laugh at me

Do not remove the choke tube and shoot the gun ever. The tube you've got most likely has 4 notches in it. If so it's a Imp. Cyl. choke tube. I'd get a modified choke tube too which is a 3 notch tube. That should cover most everything for you.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

You have to have the choke tube in at all times or you could screw up the threads on the barrel that said if it is a Cylinder bore or Imp. Cylinder choke tube you’re ok to shoot slugs. I have even shot them with modified chokes but not recommended by the manufacture I know guys don’t like to read the manual but there is a lot of good and useful information in there on your shotgun Good Luck…By the way nice choice of shotguns

I looked in my manual for my M4 and there was nothing in there about not using a full choke for slugs. I also looked through the manuals for my m1 or m2 and it didn't say anything about which choke to use.

We had this thread a couple of weeks ago and it's up the the manufacturer of the slugs.

Congrats on a great gun. And you are right, I searchedmy manual over and over when I first got mine and could not find any recommendations in it on what choke to use for slugs. Finally had to ask here.

The tightest choke you may use for the slugs is modified. Even then I would choose improve cylinder or cylinder. I used to demonstrate to recruits with a cyinder choked Ithaca model 37 with slugs. I was able to hit 16" round steel target at 300 yards without a problem.

Yes you can shoot slugs through it. Shoot as much as you like, just make sure you clean it good and a light coat of oil on the bolt and you will be fine.

Hell Ive put a few Winchester rangers through a Turkey Xtra Full choke from Briley. My M1 showed no signs of distress, but not something I would do on purpose.

I've shot the Ranger slugs too and other slugs though the stock M4 choke with no problems. Without adjusting the sights, my slugs were head on at 50 yards. I believe rifled slugs work best with smoothbore shotguns (like the M4).
