725 sporting clays

I just bout a 725 sporting clays from a fellow calgunner and the serial numbers don,t match they are 2 numbers off I can,t get the fore stock lever to latch. the gun looks brand new I did not check all the serial numbers when I drosd it. the forstock and barrel match but the receiver is 2# differrant. is this normal

I'll check mine. Sometimes they can be tight.

On my new gun, I have to squeeze the fore arm against the barrel, then push the lever closed.

On my old gun, the lever snaps in place. Did the seller show it to you put together before you bought it?

Doesn't sound right, specially on a new 725.

Serial numbers should match between receiver/forearm and barrels.

I know this is pretty obvious, but call Browning on Monday and ask them.

I have two 525s, and on both the fore end matches the barrels which match the receiver.

Are you able to put the fore end on the barrels when they're off the receiver?
