Many people are happy with them. They run heavy, have one of the smoothest racking actions and the fit and finish is usually rougher than some like.

I don't have one but I have handled them.

I like the gun.

The ones I handled were MUCH better finished than the ones I saw photographs of.

IIRC, a few months ago there was an updated, long-term review of the M5 in this forum.

As I recall, gun was fine except for some of the silver paint wearing off of the barrel.

Search this forum for the updated review.

Also, if you like the M5 because it has a steel receiver check out the Savage-Stevens 350.

It is a clone of the superb Ithaca Model 37.

It is available as a combo with the short barrel and a longer barrel for hunting.

The one I handled had an excellent finish devoid of tool marks on the bolt, receiver, and barrel.

I just got the M30 last week. It's basically the same thing, but black with extended magazine tube (7+1).

I am a big fan of RIA/Armscor, but for this one I was a bit disappointed with the finish. I guess I cannot complain too much as the price level is very good.

I went out and shot it for the first time today, and it is flawless as expected.

I like this Shotgun a lot and it is one I would keep and recommend. I've decided to put a little money into it to have it Cerakoted for a nice finish - this will make it indeed a very nice shotgun, for dedicated "BD" use (Businessplace defense).

Speaking from experience...

Pros: cheap and fun for the first 5+1 rounds (2 3/4 shells), easy smooth action, easy to field strip and clean. Comes with the barrel shroud so you don't burn your hands. There's a kak kit out there for it to extend the tube to 8+1. It's heavy so perceived recoil is less, especially when you get a recoil pad. Feeds and shoots whatever you load. It's a clone of the hIgh standard flite king platform so it's simple.

Cons: it's heavy, kicks like a mule so after the first tube you are over it. (But most 12ga are like this).made in the Philippines so it's swimming in shipping grease, the plastic parts feel cheap, and QA is lacking (store had to open 4 boxes until i would dros one because 3 had tooling scratches.

It's a great value for the price for a plinker.

I bought one parkerized. I really don't have any problem with the fit and finish. I picked up a wood stock and foregrip for it and it looks pretty cool. It does have a pretty good kick to it and the wood stock with the plastic buttplate did not help at all. Fun to shoot and inexpensive.

i got the marine one. the tooling marks are more evident on the lighter color. but i agree... fun to shoot and inexpensive.
