    Maverick 88- 8 more days!

    Aloha All!

1st gun related purchase for 2k17. Got a home defense shotgun- Maverick 88. Went between the Rock Island M5 and a Stephens 320. Went with the made in USA route. But also did some research- and it was $209. So hope this was a good deal. Cant wait.

I've had one of these for a few years, paid $189 for it. It runs all kinds of shells just fine.

Mine came with the 18.5" barrel and is the 5+1 model. I also picked up a 24" rifles slug barrel for it used for $70 and bought an ugly 28" modified choke hunting barrel for it for $40. Big tip of the hat to calgunner FAL7.62x51 for alumahyding it for me.
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

        I have the 320 combo.

I really like its slick action.

        I like the 8-shot Maverick 88.

If I were shopping for a 12 gauge the Maverick would be on my list of guns to look at.

I have one left after owning several over the years. It just works.

Not too long ago Big 5 had them on sale under $200 but $209 is still a good deal. Out of the ones you looked at I think you made a good choice.
