    Saiga 12 won't charge

I have researched and researched and have yet to find someone with the problem that I have with my unconverted Saiga 12. When I go to charge the shotgun it stops when it hits the top of the hammer. So it opens about halfway but will not open completely no matter how hard I pull. So I can not remove the bolt carrier group or load the weapon at all. I have ran about 300 rounds through it so I decided to clean it and oil it. I did a field strip breakdown put it back together now it's not working. I know it's something I did but can't figure it out. Also when I pull the trigger the hammer does not fall which I believe may be the main contributor to my problem any help would be much appreciated. I can not figure out why the hammer stays in the "down" position.

Maybe the bolt hold open came loose and is jamming it up. That happen to me once. So inwas able to pick it out and just removed the BHO entirely.

As soon I got my saigas I converted but something it definitely up with the trigger assembly. Can you manually push down the trigger to disconnect or is something stopping it?

I would remove trigger assembly and reassemble.

I can't remove trigger because I can't release the hammer. It acts like the safety is engaged but it's not. When I pull the trigger the hook that holds the hammer down does not move far enough away to allow it to go up.

Pull the legs of the hammer spring up over the face of the hammer to release tension on the hammer. Zip tie them there. With the hammer spring tension released you should be able to disassemble the fire control group.
