Sporting clays trick shot. How does it work?

I was out at Raahauge's (Corona CA, off the 91 between the 71 and 15) yesterday with a few friends. One of them showed me this trick shot.

Allen "chili" Peppers can't hear too well, and he can't see too well, but he was crushing targets.

How exactly does that work

You were on a roll right up to a post-trac in a Plymouth! Never happened that was for GM products Chevy ETC. Think sure grip for Mopar.
