What type of shells to use

I just bought a super black eagle 2 for trap, and bird shooting. I am hoping someone can break down the large selection of shotgun shells out there for me.

Pros, and cons on shell sizes. Difference for shot sizes.

Im a fan of winchester AA shells. Big reason is that I reload the spent cartriges. 7.5 to 8 size shot works well for trap, 8 or 9 if your gonna shoot skeet. As for shell size, 2.75" is what I use for everything but duck, goose and turkey hunting. 1 1/8 oz shot in the 2.75" shells, although I have been told that 1oz shells are fine for target shooting.

Sure, #9 skeet, #8 sporting clays, 7 1/2 trap.

2 3/3 dram soft shooting, 3 dram a little more recoil.

If your gun is a semi auto buy 1 1/8 oz of #8's, 3 dram and give them a try. See if they will cycle the action.

If you aren't going to reload then get the cheap shotgun shells at Wally World. I would use the Federals. Winchester also has cheap shells at Wally World but my friends and I have had some QC problems with them so I stay away.

For a day at the trap range....Buy any 8's or 7.5 at the lowest price you can find....they all work fine .....we all use them.
