Beretta A300 gas piston question and picture

What the heck is this on my A300 gas piston? Some kind of machining slag?

When I touched it, it broke off. The gun functions fine without it?

When cleaned, does it have any area's where it looks like there's a groove or gouge?

I thought something looked funny. Here's the piston out of my A300.

The first photo mus be a fake. From all that I've read on this forum, the A300 is the best machine ever made.

          All hail the A300!

Slight chance it could just be a ring of lead build up, see if it melts over a lighter

Wait, now I have to clean it? That looks like an a400 piston.

Guys, there is a real remedy for you: buy real guns, not some king of basic entry level junk and you will never have such problems.
Even Turkish made ATI $300 do not have such issues.

wait, didn't you just reviewed this gun in another thread and said it was best bargain? How is poor craftsmanship a good value?

Are we sure it's poor craftsmanship yet?

Mine had a similar piece of metal. It's leftover from the mfg process. Not a good sign of their assembly control. But it's all good.

That's the piston that came with my gun. Looks like it's used in both the A300 & A400's. My gun is now nice & clean again.
