    Register shotgun?

Happened to be in a Dick's and started talking to the gun counter guy. Said they just got a DOJ letter outlining what happens 1/1/17. He said they have no stock of long guns that need to be registered. Then he said something about shotguns. No adjustable stock, etc. Are shotguns affected? I have only been paying attention to the AR discussions.

Is this going to need registration?

All long guns including shotguns are registered as of a couple years ago. Semi-automatic shotguns with a folding or telescoping stock and a pistol grip or thumbhole stock or vertical grip, are already considered "Assault Weapons" since 2000.

The shotgun that you are looking at is not considered an assault weapon in California. It is automatically registered to you as a long gun when you DROS it.
