    My new Beretta 1301 Tactical

I just bought this shotgun. I still have to wait for it to get delivered to my local FFL., and the 10 day B.S. wait.
Can you guys with experience with this shotgun give advise on how much you like it? Are there any quarks/tricks I should be aware of if I own this shotgun? Do you have any suggestions on aftermarket parts? I already ordered the 2 round mag extension. Are there others?
I would really like to hear positive, and negatives about this shotgun.
    Please comment here.

Big thread over at Pistol-forum.com on this shotgun, detailing the ins and out of it:

Looks like Beretta is reintroducing the TX-4 Storm, under the name "1301 Tactical:" http://www.gunsholstersandgear.com/2013/10/29/beretta-1301-tactical-shotgun/

Long thread over on the Benos forums on the Comp version, but a lot of the info could apply to the Tac version also:

    Enjoy!

Yup. There's a way to accidentally jam the gun up good.

Read this page and watch embedded video:

The second installment of a two part review of the Beretta 1301 tactical shotgun. Is it a good choice for home defense?

You'll want to read the big thread on the 1301 over at pistol forum for solutions, etc.

Thank you guys for all the info.
Do you guys actually own this shotgun?
I'm only asking because, If I practice a little bit or a lot, is that issue with oversized bolt release that big of a deal?
Thank you Mr. Atekhed, and Mr. El Squid for the info.
I think I'll probably just buy the bolt latch from Aridus Industries just in case.

Sorry, but I can't give you any negative feedback on this gun. I've had mine (22") for a couple of years, and it has ALWAYS worked like a Swiss watch. It eats everything I have fed it (high brass, low brass, standard, low recoil and military loadings), and goes BANG every time I pull the trigger. Ran it through a defensive shotgun class and it was one of the few SA guns which didn't have issues that day.

I haven't watched any videos as to how it jams up, as I just never have any issues (at least with how I shoot it). Absolutely LOVE all of the oversized controls. I've also added a Nordic magazine extension. And love that it has the safety in the correct location. With my trigger finger in the resting position, I just can't see how it makes sense to move all the way to the rear of the triggerguard (like Rem 870) before shooting. That is why I have standardized on the 1301 and the Winchester 1300 Defender (pump) shotguns for first ready home defense.

Well, maybe there is one negative about this gun. It sets a VERY high standard for any other semi-auto shotgun. It has rather made me dislike my Mossberg 930, which definitely doesn't perform so well, even after the mods and adjustments specified on the interwebs. So when I was looking for a low level (just for occasional fun) trap gun, it was nothing but the Beretta A400 for me. Not as many rounds through it as I have through the 1301, but so far has been just as reliable.

Don't have one so can't help, but tagging this thread so I can see what others say. The Comp is on my short list. I have read pretty much every thread in the world related to the 1301 tactical and comp and nothing has detoured me.

Thanks for the info. I watched a lot of Youtube videos on this shotgun. Only one out of all the videos were negative. My cousin has the Remington semi shotgun, and that thing is constantly malfunctioning. I also have a 1300 Defender pump, and absolutely love that shotgun too. I'll post some pictures, and review when I finally get the Beretta 1301.

I've asked my local shop to see about getting one of these for me too. Looks like a great shotgun! I look forward to your pics and review.

If they are built anything like Beretta pistols, that does not surprise me.

Nope. Was thinking of buying one a while back, but didn't.

Depends on how you feel about Mr Murphy.

FWIW, for those thinking of buying, arms unlimited has been selling these blasters for $800.

Arms Unlimited; the gold standard in law enforcement supply. Offering the best deals on firearms AR15 rifles, ammunition, accessories, optics, body armor, and tactical gear.

Yep. That is where I bought mine. I have never seen them for under $1K until I saw $799 at Arms Unlimited in Vegas. It is still cheaper than buying special order from the local FFl who does not stock this same shotgun in the Inland Empire.

Tell your local shop to beat the price of Arms Unlimited for $799 plus all the transfer fees. They would probably sell you the shotgun for same price, and order the shotgun from Arms Unlimited, but go easy on you with the transfer fees.
