Thoughts/opinions of the Winchester 101? BPS has the field model on sale (Black Friday) for $999. I don't need one, but I don't own one either.

I went to Bass Pro a few weeks ago to check them out. They are rather large and blocky compared to a Beretta Silver Pigeon. Wasn't very impressed with the finish.

That said, there are a few members on this forum that actually own and shoot them and say positive things.

Is the sporting model on sale? The manual safety on the field model would drive me crazy.
