    Deciding on a new shotgun

It's been a long time since I left shotgunning and am getting back into it. When I left the F3 was the new gun on the block! Hahaha
I'll tell you what the current pricing on these shotguns is a real eye opener. F3's back then were a hell of a lot cheaper, like half the price haaha.

So back then I had my eyes on a K80 or a Kolar. Are the current runs of these guns holding up well to the new fangled guns out?

A buddy of mine just got a 692 Black and wants a DT11. I just remember the 682 and the DT10 haaha. It seems like the new Beretta guns are the new rage. Is it just hype because they're the new kids on the block or are they objectively better guns?

So anyways, after the holidays wind down I think I'll be ready to pick something up. I'n my mind it's K80, but is there anything else I should consider?

Anyone have experience with Kolar and K80's?
Man, this place has gone bonkers.

K80 should last you a lifetime.

Perazzi is another player in that market. I don't think you could go wrong with either of those.

I know a couple of guys that have Kolar's but they, as well as the DT's don't seem as popular where I shoot. Most shooters I shoot with have Kreighoff's, Perazzi's, Citori's or mid-range Beretta's.

Ceaser Guirini also puts out a really nice shotgun. I have shot one and it swung nicely and was well balanced.

With the budget you are looking at, there are a lot of nice guns that will work for many years to come!

I'm shooting a Beretta A400 now, always shot an 870 prior to it.

It is a darn nice gun, and feels good in the hand.
        Looking for a 3" Magnum 870 $200-$250ish

Have a K32 4 bbl set made in the 60's. Tight as a drum. Shoots like a new gun - and it has seen plenty of use over the years.

Your grand kids will miss you when your gone, that K32 will ease their pain.

I have owned, shot, and sold a K32 in favor of a Beretta 682 due to the feel of the 682. If I remember correctly, the K80's are a step up from the K32 only in mechanical trigger refinements. Both (K32 and K80) are excellent guns and will be a prized possession for generations to enjoy. Any of the shotguns mentioned above are excellent quality and you can't go wrong with any of them.

It seems like your looking at over unders, which I used to prefer for trap shooting myself. That is until I bought a Remington versamax for my wife only because of the supposed reduced recoil. Now that is my primary trap gun that we share. The other weekend I shot 350 rounds of sporting clays and did not even feel sore the day after. She also has about 2k shells through her without one hiccup. That would be my recommendation. Made in US too.

You'd prolly be well off to go to some place like Pacific Sporting Arms. My buddy just got a Perazzi from them after having a Kolar.

                    Myself, I have a couple 682 golds.

Thanks for all the replies. Yea PSA is the local shop. Ive my eyes on a 682 gold e for a while too. Since the new stuff is out Ive been able to locate a couple 682's with tube sets for bout 5k. Thats saving 5k from the k80 hehe. Ohhh but I like that k80.

I'm looking for a sporting clays gun. I like sporting and 5stand the most. Tubes are nice because I like the shooting sub gauges too. 28ga is nice all around and skeet with 410 is awesome. Anyways I have some time. Im looking at picking something up after the new year so I'll see what holiday spending sacrifices people will make that I can scoop up on! Haaha
