Just DROS:d an IAC 982 Hawk @ Big5! (+pics)

I'd been thinking about getting an HD shotgun for a while and mostly considered the 870. It usually goes on sale at Big5 and Turners for $350.

After lots of research I settled on the Norinco / IAC 982. Bud's has them on their website but they are always OOS and I'd never seen one myself. It's this one:

Recently all the San Diego area Big5 stores have begun carrying them. I guess they were on sale at Christmas time and for some reason I didn't notice (maybe because it wasn't a Remington.) So I called my friendly neighborhood arms dealer and they agreed to give me the old sale price of $199!

Yes: Big5 carries that model, but then it's also called the H&R Pardner instead of an IAC (someone correct me if I'm wrong.)

Norinco 982 = GRS
981 = bead sight
Pardner Protector = bead sight.

They have machine parts you only find on the 870P and you never hear about fired shells sticking in the chamber. They offer a lot for the money. Smooth them out a little, maybe change the mag spring out with a Wolff spring and they will be ready to go.
