Yup, just drill them out, then dremel the inside smooth after you drill them out.
Or you can try to dremel them down.

You can use 1/2" drive sockets that have a tapered shoulder.

I used a rat tail file. No need to buy a tool this method works just fine.

Do not pound them out like the clown on Brownells. He even puts the stock on the floor when he does it. If you break the braising where the mag tube is braised into the receiver that is a factory repair. I get to sell new receivers to guys who stick sockets in there and beat on them. Good for business that advice there is.

They are to be drilled out. Even Choate recommends this and give instructions on how to do it with every Remington tube extension they sell. I might as well mention that I posted this once and a guy said I was stupid because that made holes for dirt to get into. Really? There is a freaking hole in the end of the Tube extension. There is a hole in the end of the magazine caps also. Break down your old Wingmaster and you will find a large hole right where the top detent is on the Express. These are air relief hole and are necessary because as you are forcing ammo in the tube you are pushing air and it needs somewhere to go. Also, the two holes you make by drilling out the detents are under the barrel ring and protected but not so tight they will not serve as air relief holes. So, I ain't very bright but I am not stupid when it comes to Remington shotguns.

I just did this 2 days ago. Drilled them out, spent 10 minutes total and that included smoothing inside the tube. DON'T GO ALL THE WAY THROUGH. Do one side, flip it and then do the other side. Piece of cake.

I didn't buy the tool, I had some spare things and made a half***** jig with a vise, long bolt, tapered socket, and scrap metal. Use lube, and take some time (having one or eight beers handy helps... or you just think they do). If I remember right, I put the socket from the loading end of the stripped tube, with the greased nut and bolt assembled and enough to protrude the cap side. With a wrench, slowly pull the socket through. I think I did it in steps, passing a total of three sockets through to get the right size. This way, there's no shock to the braised area mentioned above, and you don't add extra holes. Good luck, happy drunksmithing.
