    Enidine Hydraulic recoil buffer

Do these significantly reduce the recoil in a telescoping stock? I saw one on mesa's website. I have an 870 and am considering this. Thoughts?

Also, for the tele scope, which version do you like - LEO, High-tube, or low-tube.

    Thanks

I have the Mesa High tube stock with the endine shock. I like it alot and like the way it looks over the knoxx specops. Although the Knoxx is about half the price. I did just put a Knoxx compstock on my wifes 500, so I need to try it out and see how if feels compared to the endine... The compstock looks like a conventional shotgun stock....

As for the safety goes I also purchased a Cav arms safety for my 500, so I can reach the safety with my thumb without removing my grip from the pistol grip. It works great and I couldn't be happier with it.

One more thing to think about my mesa adaptor seems to weigh alot, but I think the Knoxx is made out of plastic or some kind of polymer, so it might be lighter. I prefer the extra weight of the mesa adaptor due to the fact it even out the front end heaviness from my sidewinder kit I also have installed

The draw back to thehigh tube stock is you have to have some sort of optics on the receiver.. there's no way to get your eyes low enough without optics

Does anybody know the difference between the LEO set and the low-tube set? They look exactly the same but they have different prices. The website says they both will work with the stock bead sights.

The endine recoil buffer replaces the buffer in an AR. Those components do not do anything in a shotgun. If you shoved one into the tube on a collapsible stock for a shotgun, it would just sit there not doing anything while you're firing it.

There are different mercury filled tubes that I've seen discussed that can supposedly help with shotgun recoil, but to be honest the best way to deal with shotgun recoil is shouldering the thing properly.

Not sure what you are saying but if you are saying the Endine buffer does nothing in a shotgun then you are 100% wrong and either don't understand the question are you have no knowledge of the product.

Yes, the Endine buffer is hand over fist better then the SpecOps at reducing felt recoil. Also, the transistion of the weapon is smoother. I have professional knowledge of both stocks and feature both on my weapons. The Endine is the way to go if your wallet can take it and your shoulder will thank you over and over and over again. For max comfort add the m-4 Limbsaver pad you have the best recoil reduction system on the Market.

And for disclosure: I was a Knoxx dealer until they sold out the Blackhawk and now get them from my distributors. I am a Mesa Tactical Stocking Dealer. I don't recommend and use the Mesa Products because I am a Mesa Dealer, I am a Mesa Dealer because I use and recommend the products. Top of the line Duty stuff and I am proud to fearture their products.

Please explain to us then, how the hydraulic recoil buffer does anything rattling around in a collapsible stock tube on a shotgun since nothing in the action compresses it.

Or simply correct me if there is indeed a different one than the models for the AR(it's pretty obvious that's the one I was talking about based on my description), that would do something besides sit there motionless.

Oops, I was able to clarify that myself http://www.smartgunner.com/92170.aspx thanks for all of that useful info you provided Aippi, I appreciate it

I have the mesa LEO stock with the enidine recoil buffer.... I dont know why they say its hydraulic because its really just spring loaded.

It DOES reduce recoil a lot though. Shooting slugs or 00 buck use suck but now I can shoot them without worry. My only problem is that after firing, the trigger guard tends to hit my trigger finger because the entire shotgun is moving back. That only happens when shooting something hot like slugs or 00 buck.

It is hydraulic, like the shock absorbers in your car (which also have return springs like the Enidine unit).

There is a perforated plate at the front of the internal assembly. Under recoil, the plate is forced back into a vessel of oil. Oil passes through the holes in the plate in a measured way, absorbing the recoil. The spring pushes the plate back to the front.

I have a question about the stock adapter kits. What's the difference between the LEO kit and the LOW mount kit? They both look like it would provide the same cheek weld and look identical on the website.

The low tube stock adapter is discontinued, because it was replaced by the LEO. The LEO is the same, but it has two QD push button sling mount points, and accepts sling mount plates between the receiver and the adapter. Below are the two features that the LEO has over the low tube.

but the low-tube adapter has indeed been discontinued, for reasons outlined here.

Everything that Merc says is true, when the OP says "Buffer" and used in the correct terminology it leads us to think he is talking about the buffer in an AR type rifle, this is the source of the confusion, this is what i was also thinking when reading the title of this thread, the Endine Buffer Tube is what the company calls this item for shotguns. The terms gets thrown around alot.

                              im just saying...
                              These are Endine Buffers

                              Endine buffer tube
