    A & H fox 20ga. Question

I was wondering if someone could help me with some questions I have on a old 20ga.
Trying to find out an approximate date manufactured and estimated value of a A&H fox, Sterlingworth 20ga side x side. The serial is pre 250100 and the only info I can find looks like it may be pre 1912

Not enough info. Condition is the most important factor, but configuration counts for a lot. Barrel length, original butt plate, ejectors vs extractors, etc. Best bet is to post some pics and more details here and on Fox Collectors site.

Just FYI, it's not "A&H," it's A. H. Fox, for Ansley H. Fox. Another important configuration feature that changes value for some buyers is whether it's what's commonly known as a "pin gun." The very early Sterlingworths had an exposed hinge pin, very much like the Parker V-Grades that it was competing with. Parker sued, and the later Sterlys did away with the exposed pin. I don't know that I have ever seen a 20 ga pin gun, but I think they are out there.

My A H Fox Sterlingworth 12 ga serial number 67608 made in 1913 just after the hinge pin guns maybe the first of the "new style" still locks up tight been shot a bunch although not lately. Grandfather bought it new back then.
