I visited my uncle last week and was surprised by an inheritance from my gramps that he was holding for me. I had not idea.
Its a Winchester 97 12g shotgun. I had shot it many years ago with Gramps and I guess he remembered my love for it.
This was Gramps favorite 12g and he used it like all his guns, a tool, not a collectible. The stock is beat to hell, wear shows on all parts, and corn cob is well worn. But she functions perfectly still. Its a 1926 built model that my uncle says gramps bought off his brother, and his brother was the original buyer.
And yes, as stated below, this will be a family heirloom for as long as life exists on this planet.
