    Thanks Gramps

I visited my uncle last week and was surprised by an inheritance from my gramps that he was holding for me. I had not idea.

Its a Winchester 97 12g shotgun. I had shot it many years ago with Gramps and I guess he remembered my love for it.

This was Gramps favorite 12g and he used it like all his guns, a tool, not a collectible. The stock is beat to hell, wear shows on all parts, and corn cob is well worn. But she functions perfectly still. Its a 1926 built model that my uncle says gramps bought off his brother, and his brother was the original buyer.

And yes, as stated below, this will be a family heirloom for as long as life exists on this planet.

Very cool shotgun! From Grandpa makes it priceless...
I have a model 97 (trap) from my Great Grandfather.
It will be passed on to my kids as I'm sure yours will.

Dig the family pass downs. The only thing I received from my grandfather was his rifle. Miss the guy and will keep it in the family forever as well.

your old Model 97 is a wonderful family heirloom that your grandfather has left for you, and it's honorable that your uncle ensured that it went to the person it was meant to be with.
