Benelli "Argo" Vs Beretta operating system

I keep going back and forth between both firearms. I will be purchasing one shortly...

Pros of the Beretta is $$$ light weight decent aftermarket and fast action.

Pros of the Benelli (M4) are tested by military huge aftermarket.

Cons of the Beretta is that it is not a Benelli and aftermarket is smaller.

Cons of the Benelli is that it is heavy and it is pricey.

Is there one that is truly hands and feet better than the other? The operating systems are different. Is ARGO significantly better or is it brand hype?

This will be used to plink at the range, maybe go shotgun golf, possibly home defense. Basically to have, I am no computer commando saying that I am going to be doing entries with swat. I would just like to know from people that have owned both which one you sold and why. If you still own both why do you keep them both around.

For the sake of argument the Benelli is a M4 model 11707 with the collapsible stock and the Beretta is the police model with the pistol grip and Messa Urbino stock and extension tube.

Can't help you with Beretta. But my benellis work every time.

I have a warranty claim in for a damaged fore end that's taking a long time. But it's a used rifle and I'm surprised it was covered in the first place. So, no complaints.

The ARGO system is very different than the Beretta system. Hard to explain though. I much prefer the ARGO. The Remington Versa-Max and V3 essentially use the ARGO system also. One of the advantages is they really reduce recoil.

I think you need to look at what the best shotgun competition shooters use.
I don't know that answer to that question as I'm a newbie to shotguns and am leaning towards buying a Beretta 1301.
But, I'm very interested in this thread.

As far as I have seen many people run the FN the Mossberg and the M2 for competitions... I have seen a select few have opted for the Beretta and I am assuming the M4 was disregarded due to its weight and price point for competition purposes.

Is there no one in california that has owned both and can give feedback?!! I appreciate all responses.
