20 gauge youth 870 problem HELP?

A couple of years ago I bought my son an 870 20ga youth model.
After a couple of hundred rounds it started to develop a problem with the magazine tube.After the first shot if you pump it firmly it will eject the next shell onto the ground instead of the chamber.at first it was just annoying but I think it is to the point of being unsafe now,not from an explosion type problem but more of a paying attention/concentration problem.I hunt with my son but I don't want my A** getting shot off.
Any ideas? I've detail cleaned it and inspected it for wear and I do not see anything obvious,,Please help if you can,,Thanks

I think if this were happening to an 870 owned by me, I'd contact Remington Customer support. Now the problem is I've heard that they are not all that easy to talk to or get ahold of. But this appears to be a defect in how the action bars and the shell carrier are working, or um, not working as the case may be.

If it's dropping the next round onto the ground, I don't really see how you might be shot over it unless your son gets mad at the gun and wants to take it out on you

The only gun I'd think that might have this dropping problem would be an Ithaca or Browning BPS since it doesn't use a shell carrier but has two "prong like" things that come from either side and load the gun as if it were a shell carrier. It sounds like it might have been defective from the get go.

Sounds like the elevator is hanging up and not dropping into place or the shell interruptor is tripping early or is bent/worn
