eBay Shotshell caddy kit - home built

I purchased one of the EBAY shotshell caddy kits. The 20 shell unit.

40 bucks to buy, 30 bucks for the ELS clips and 2 hours of drilling and sanding.

The ELS clip mounting was tricky as it was a mod. You need to mark the position of the clips when the belt is straight. Then when the caddy is bent around the waist, you need to measure how much shorter the caddy becomes and compensate before drilling.

    I like it.

That looks horribly uncomfortable and difficult to use. If your goal is clays, why not just a pouch that fits the box with top cut off? If it's hunting, seems obtrusive and unwielding for field use. Tactical, just no.

Mayyyyyyybe multi gun, that doesn't require much movement? At that rate I'd probably just drop the $ for traditional 4 shell caddies.

Thing looks like it goes from your belt line to rib cage, can you bend over with it on?

$70?????????? wow, and you can practice bent backwards...
But look at the positive side. It has additional benefits. you are going to entertain all the people on the range, let alone, if you are going hunting, you will not need to spend any ammo, all animals are going.
      to die laughing...

Summarizing all of the above, $70 and 2 hours of work was a real steal

Its for dual loading a shotgun during timed matches. The last one I went to had about 26 targets per stage. It cost me 40. The clips are a fixed cost if I want to quickly attach or detach the caddy from my belt between stages/matches. Any solution wouldve cost me 30 in clips. If I opted for 2 smaller caddies, thats 60 in clips.

This guy is using two 8 shell caddies for a total of 16. I opted for the 20, aint no big diff.

This is a factory 12 shell dual loading caddy, a 45 dollar unit. That plus another 40 for an 8 shell holder, plus 60 in clips, 150 dollars. I think I did good for a weekend warrior. I was using a pouch during my last match. Loading one at a time and orienting shells from a pouch, not fast.

Ebay. I bought one of the last 3 and he is out. The seller makes them and he should have more soon. His ebay name is http://www.ebay.com/usr/normmaul.

I built it stock. With a little skill, you can split the kit into multiple caddies for less capacity, better placement etc. Thats easy enough to do later, for now I built it stock to save on cost on clips.

The factory unit above is a Taccom. Available from Amazon and most fine gun stores

Nice to see Twinz loading as the in-vogue method. Looks good!

Do you venture into quad loading with the spacing of that caddy? Or do you just stick with two shells each grip?

I'm a newb to shotguns and matches. Sticking with Load2. If I opt to move up to Load4, I'd have to redo the base plate and space them closer. That's about a 40 minute job and 5 bucks worth of Kydex.
