Ya its got some serious brute.

I bought one awhile back, and sold it shortly after. The main thing I hated was the shells would eject straight on my wrist bone in the same exact spot everytime. After a few mins I just couldn't handle it anymore as my arm was raw feeling. I woulda had to buy one of those leather straps people wear when shooting archery or something just to deal with that. I just stick to my standard pump 590/870.

Yes, they're really uncomfortable out of the box. Limbsaver helps a ton.

Depends what rounds you are shooting.

I've fired magnum slugs (ouch) and buck/bird shot out of them. Definitely more comfortable with the shot vs the slug.

          YMMV

love my KSG... It's *the* shotgun that made me buy the rest of the items need for reloading my own shells. I'm using a Lee 7/8 oz slug worked up off of factory dove loads. Loaded to the same length as the Aguila "mini-shell" the KSG will hold 25 rounds of 12ga shells. I know they run well - just haven't had the chance to chrony them yet.

That all said, while I can't characterize the KGS as a "higher-quality" item, it shoots as well as my best finished shotguns..

Amazon sell a stock pad called decelerator. I have it on my ksg and it works like a charm.

It probably doesn't fit you right.

The KSG does not have that much recoil....pull it into your shoulder more

fwiw Bullpup Unlimited's kit uses a Remington SuperCell - recoil is very managable with that and a vfg.

Will that shotgun take some 3.5" Turkey loads? That would kick...

                          Nope.

3" shells is the max length.

I added a Pachmayr Decelerator Slip On Recoil Pad to my Kel-Tec KSG.
Feels great, softens the felt recoil.

That recoil is a non-issue for a good chunk of the market who buy a weapon for bragging rights, photo shoots, and visual badassery but never actually shoot it.
