    ID this 12ga 870 Barrel

The above barrel is an 870 Marine Barrel, with rifle sights and Rem Choke. However the barrel ring is approximately 2.5" to short to fit the 870 Marine. It may fit the 870 MCS but they don't make a Marine Coat MCS. A normal 870 Marine barrel is mounted on the gun and you can see on the top barrel, the barrel in question, how short the barrel ring is.

Anyone aware of any 870 Marine ever made with a three shot tube? That is the only explanation other then the factory just screwed up. I am sending ten of hese back and can not get an answer from anyone with Remington.

Never seen anything like that. My first thought was "ask AIPPI" because he knows everything about Remington (870) shotguns, but that won't work in this instance.

Is it an 18" barrel? There doesn't seem to be any reason to have a shorter magazine tube, if the barrel is standard length. You could use a 13" barrel and still use the stock length magazine tube. Maybe the Chinese did something wrong, or they nickel plated the wrong parts.

AIPPI does not know everything even though he is such a stunningly handsome man. Yes, it is an 18.5" barrel with Rem Choke and Rifle sights. And here what is really funny. It comes with a rifled tube. I guess that makes sense as we all know the 870 Marine is so popular as a Deer Gun.

Here is the measurement off of my original 870 MCS: 7.955" from receiver to the back of fully seated barrel lug.

Just got an answer as to what this is and how I ended up with them. Thank goodness that I had some peoples e-mail that still care about the Remington name. The man answered my e-mail within a hour or so of sending it and was able to get to the bottom of it. I hope Remington knows they still have a few good people left. Here is part of his response:
