H&R Pardner Pump build **pics inside**

Got a brand new H&R Pardner pump today for $170 brand new. It seems silly, but everything I've read about this shotgun says it's just as reliable as an 870. I want to put a Surefire forend on it to leave in my closet and I know that most 870 accessories work on the Pardner. Is the Surefire forend one of those accessories that will work? How difficult is the install?

You would need a forend wrench to remove the nut holding the forend onto the action bars. Then you'd just replace the forend with the forend light and tighten the nut with the tool.

Easy install, parts are interchangeable, except for the barrel. Sounds like a worthy project. I polished the action bars and bolt on Mine it almost pumped itself.

Just wanted to provide an update. I got sidetracked by my Mk13 .300 Winmag project, but am now on track for this shotgun project. I have ordered the following parts for the H&R Pardner Pump:

-Surefire 618 foreend
-Malkoff M61 LED conversion
-Mesa Tactical 6 shot side saddle
-Hogue overmold stock

Figure this will make for a great HD shotgun. I've put a couple hundred rounds through the shotgun so far with zero issues. I know people gripe about "Made in China" stuff, but I think H&R did this gun right. Honestly seems more rugged than my old 870 express I used to have. Only thing I still want to find for it is a two point sling setup.

Got everything done and installed today. Turned out very well! Everything for like a glove!

Only thing I'm bummed about is that everything I read said that the Malkoff M61 would work in the forend; however, it does not.

Good stuff!!! If I'm not mistaken the H&R Pardners and IAC/Norinco 982 are the same gun. I installed a Choate 2-shot mag extension and not it's a porker.

How flush is the choate extension to the end? Is it flush? Short? Longer?

The Choate extension sits flush. I thought I had pics of it but nope. I just looked at the Choate website and it is not listed except for the +1 extension. I think you specifically have to contact them and ask for the +2 extension.
