    Savage 430 - broken stock - Options?

    Hey guys!

I recently picked up a killer deal on a 430 O/U. But the gun has a broken butt stock. It's essentially the same as the 420.

After googling I have found ONE company that has one for $600-$700. The gun is only worth $500 or so. So it's not really worth putting out that much money.

Is there a local company that can make one? I checked Boyd's stocks and they don't have one.

I guess that is an option, but I'd rather not have couple hundred hours invested in the stock. No local guys that make stocks no local guys that make stocks? Bummer

Pictures of the break? You'll be surprised on what can be fixed with modern adhesives.

Depending on the damage........stocks can be repaired!
I've seen several stocks that were busted up and after to a good repair work by a pro......you couldn't even see where they had been fixed.
Check around locally for a gunsmith that does stocks.................gotta be cheaper then a whole new stock??
