    SXS Remodel

I rec'd two Stevens 311 shotguns from gramps after he passed away. One was in great shape, the other not so much. The wood had been refinished or what may have been the case, covered to protect it. The new finish made the stock look like plastic. So I decided to strip and refinish with boiled linseed oil. Glad I did. The wood had one small ding, and aside from that it is in perfect shape.

I've attached before and after pics for your viewing pleasure.

Looks great! Sorry about your gramps passing.

If you take a wet cloth, lay it over the ding and steam it with an iron, it'll hopefully remove the ding. But you'll have to resand and refinish the wood again

            My condolences in grandpa's passing.

Great work on the Stevens 311. I had one in the 1970s that was nice. Thank you for sharing.
