    First 50 straight, Woot!!

After a bad encounter with a crabby old fart at Metcalf who kept complaining about me and my wife messing up his "shooting cadence", we decided to keep shooting trap for now as wife is still working on her first 25.

Switched to shooting at Sunnyvale and managed a first 50 straight today. Woohoo!!

100 is just around the corner.

Wifey will get there too, just keep at it.

As for the old fart and his cadence, stuff it pops.

How do you mess up somebody's "shooting cadence"? Congrats on the streak.

Sorry but my cadence is critically important to me.

You should have just assimilated him, into the collective.

I understand sealocan, but how does one mess that up? I go to the range i do what I am there to do others around me un less directly interfering with me really don't exist. That may be the call center worker in me though.

If you were exhibiting some 20 second "routine" between each of your shots at the two ranges I regularly shoot at, you would hear about it.

The first time would be a friendly quip about keeping the game moving along, the second time would be a little more direct.

A bit nervous, yes, I took an extra second to draw in a deep breath and made sure I'm relaxed before mounting the gun on the 50th shot.

It is one of those things old folks do I guess, from what I gathered, they seems to require a certain rhythm when shooting trap. I don't understand it myself why on earth would you need it, it is not dancing or synchronized swimming after all. I suspect it might make getting high scores easier because the timing in between each shot is the same but in my opinion, not a good habit because it makes you vulnerable to distractions.

I've never been bothered by other shooters, they can shoot fast or they can take their time with a friend/instructor behind teaching them to mount their gun. I shoot for fun and I want my fellow shooters to enjoy their time at the range too, not force them into shooting when they're not ready.

It's easier to blame someone else for your missed target.
