    Versa Max Barrels

I shoot trap from time to time with my Versa Max. I want to go back to Redlands Shooting Park for the Tri County shoot but haven't been able to since they implemented a 26 inch barrel minimum and a ban on "Tactical" or "Self Defense" shotguns. Of course, I have a Versa Max Tactical with a 22 inch. I'm sure I can get a pass on the "Tactical" part with a new barrel and replacing the mag extension tube with a cap and spring.

I don't shoot often enough to warrant a dedicated trap gun.

That said, OEM barrels are stupid expensive and they don't seem to come up for sale used.

Any pricing/shopping hacks to get a barrel cheap(er)? I remember checking out the REM Country catalog some time ago and saw barrels on clearance, does this come back every so often?

    ><

Reconfigure the stock and mag to field / sport with the 22" barrel...add some kind of shell catcher to show repect for other shooters and their equipment.

Follow the range rules and I'll bet nobody is going to ask you to stop shooting or leave the range because of the barrel length. A shell catcher will seal the deal.

Check on ebay there aren't any right now that I could see, but I picked up a 28" barrel for my VMax tactical for around $150 back in 2013.
I think I've only shot once with the 28". I never been harassed about the 22"at Raahauge's but only shot Sporting Clays.
Saying people don't need guns because we have police is like saying we don't need fire extinguishers because we have firemen.
