    Cynergy Classic Field feedback please

I was fortunate to have tried a "friend's" Browning Cynergy Classic Field today. Wow! That is a nice o/u. I shot three rounds of clay and did OK - 23/23/22. It mounted nicely and extremely easy to shoot. It is heavy but has great balance. I was surprised that it fit me quite well. Anyone have any experience with these? Any issues I should worry about?

I may have an opportunity to purchase said o/u but I am struggling to find MSRP and pricing. In my search online, it appears to be a discontinued model since there his nothing I can find that shares its features. This model is the Cynergy Classic Field with 32" ported barrels, full set of Browning extended chokes, leather hard case, regular case, shell bag, and all the other swag it came with. This is the version with a regular recoil pad (not the triangular). Barrel is stamped with Browning/Miroku and 2 3/4" shells. It has ejectors also. Wood is nice and looks almost brand new. It does not have the shiny wood finish. The receiver is engraved and has the Browning logo in the middle of each side. The bottom not the receiver is also engraved and has "Classic Field" engraved in the center.

Anyone have an idea of value? I will be testing it again next week and hope to talk price as well. Any insight before the weekend would be great.

I have had the fortunate experience of shooting a Cynergy sporting clays model with 32" barrels. The gun was a joy to shoot. Low recoil, good balance and swung great for me. A lot of shotgun "purists" did not like the receiver design or the funky recoil pad that came out on the first versions. Most people ether loved it or hated it. I was one who liked it.

In regards to value, look it up in the blue book of gun values. I would think it would be in the high thousands to low two thousands depending on the shape. FWIW...the swag was all free when you bought this gun. THe extras were valued at $400 of freebies as an incentivize as the Cynergy line never really took off.

A few years ago you couldn't give away a cynergy, but they seem to be making a comeback

Thanks for the info. I really like the design. Although, this model has the traditional looking stock and not the typical triangular butt pad some of the Cynergies have.

I do agree about it not having much of a kick. It was a joy to shoot.

The o/u I tested is almost exactly like this one but with darker, less fancy, wood.

Interesting stock! I have never seen a Browning with that light of a stock. I wonder if that is a factory stock as I didn't know Browning made maple stocks. Seeing as that one is being sold by a Cabelas location, I am sure the pricing is above average.

I'm surprised it's a "field" model. I didn't think there are any field guns with ported barrels and barrel lengths longer than 28".

Anyways, you might have some luck finding msrp in Browning's catalog, if you haven't already checked.

Thanks again for the info. I checked Browning's website and have yet to find anything on the o/u I tested. It is a really nice version. I am wondering if this was a special order/model since it has the 32" ported barrels on a Classic Field receiver.
