Refinishing a Mossberg 500 Advice

I was wondering if any of you have had any success refinishing a newer mossberg 500? I'm going for a dark smokey look like this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5.../rightside.jpg.

I've heard good things about tung oil and linseed oil but I'm not sure the difference or how to get that dark smokey look. Any tips or helpful personal experience would be appreciated. Thanks!

Talking about the wood? BLO (Boiled Linseed Oil) applied a bunch of times will probably get you there.
