I bought an old J. Stevens Arms Company single shot .410 the other day. It has no modal number of any kind. I bought it as a shooter but after trying to look into it I find that it is pretty old. From the way the name is I know it was made between 1920 and 1940. After much searching I finally found a serial number under the forearm under a spring. that number is 799 CV. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me more about this gun. I have shot it. It's n good shape for it's age. Is it something I can keep shooting or is it worth something? Any and all help.

It's difficult to know exactly what model the gun is without any detailed pictures. As far as monetary value...nil.

Prior to WW-I the company name was J. Stevens Arms & Tool Company. After WW-I the company name was J. Stevens Arms Co., a wholly owned subsidiary of Savage Arms Corp.

They made several different single shot shotguns during the post WWI period. Here are the models listed in their catalog from 1933.
