I shoot about 5,000 rounds a year, and only clean it once or twice.

Don't over think it. I use a bore snake, and Rem-oil.

If you already have long rods, you could also buy a bronze brush that screws into your existing long rod.
I would recommend a new toothbrush, rather than an old one... you can buy them at Dollar Tree, they don't have to be top quality. The problem with an "old" one is that toothpaste is abrasive, so unless you're 100% sure you cleaned any last remaining toothpaste out of it first, it's easier/safer just to go buy a couple cheapo toothbrushes.
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

That kit is GTG, OP. I would also say Balistol for cleaning the exterior/synthetic/wood parts

          +1 for boresnake

hard to beat boresnakes for routine field cleanings..

we used them in everything from m9 to mk19 [yes, they make 40mm boresnakes ]

you could also probably find a 12ga mop and one piece shotgun cleaning rod [shotgun = longer] that would suffice..

I use the plastic toothbrushes the dentist gives us but you can buy cheap double ended od green ones that you used in the .mil.. the skinny end comes in handy..

I won't engage in a huge chemical warfare argument, but I simply use clp in aerosol cans on my fcg and blow excess out with compressed air..

only guns with appearance grade wood stocks/grips get any other treatment.

wipe down with soft cotton cloth [diapers work great] to the point you can barely leave a fingerprint, function check, and toss it back in the safe..
I started out with nothing - and I still have most of it
